New to all this

Hey bloggers out there,

I've always been a reader, and not a blogger but I figured I'd give this a shot. I started on my weight loss journey about 9 weeks ago and have lost 19 lbs so far. I embarrassed to say that I've started diets about twice a year for the past several years, and this is the best I've ever done.... but I'm also hopeful for the same reason.... because I've stuck with it this long and don't want to see those pounds back, ever.

My husband is also doing it with me, which makes things much easier. However, in the time it took me to lose 19, he has lost 42. That's men for you, huh? I say that, but the truth is I'm extremely proud of him, and its good to see him in better shape, and more importantly, better health.

We have had a gym membership for a while, but we are horrible about getting to the gym, so we decided to bring the gym home. We purchased a weight bench, a set of bowflex weights (really nice, and they don't take up much space at all) and a commercial grade used elliptical machine. I did 20 mins on the elliptical on Sunday, and 15 mins on Monday. I don't know how you ladies do those 45 min+ workouts. Guess its a progression thing?

Anyhow, I welcome any comments. It'll be nice to actually talk to some of you, instead of lurking around, wishing I could do what you are doing for yourselves.
